• Hi!

    I recently upgraded to WordPress 2.8.3 and everything lokked ok. But a few days later my 2 sites are missing all the categories. The backend status widget says “17 categories” but when i try to see my categories, they are gone. When i check my posts, they are all uncategorized. In one of my sites, the categories in the frnt end is also gone, but the other are showing the categories. Please visit https://www.tjelle.net and https://familien.tjelle.net.

    Is there a way to get my categories back? (database or edit files?)

    I cannot create new posts either.

    All my database tables comes up as:

    Error

    SQL query: Edit

    SHOW FULL FIELDS FROM wp_posts ;

    MySQL said: Documentation
    #1030 – Got error 28 from storage engine

  • Did you ever figure out a cause to this problem?

    I am experiencing the exact same symptoms. My categories are disappearing, post are claiming to be uncategorized, and I sometimes get the “#1030 – Got error 28 from storage engine” error when I select the “Structure” tab in phpMyAdmin. All of this happens sometimes, not all the time. It jumps back and forth from working and not working.

    If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! This is happening on a clients site and I’m trying to get it fixed asap. ??

    My hosting company ended up saying it was a problem with their server. The /tmp folder had not been dumped, and was causing this error. They said it wouldn’t happen again, hopefully that’s the case.
