    Hello,

Thank you for showing interest in our plugin.

This is quite a strange case, never seen this one. First of all what do you mean by the message links to that specific link? The 6007 alerts have no links in it.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

In the Dashboard “Latest Alerts | WP Security Audit Log” area, those items are linked.

    Ok, now it is clearer.

So basically if you click on the alert you will be redirected to the Audit Log Viewer where you can see all the alerts in question.

Can you say if it happens when you do something specific or such alerts are being reported all the time?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Seeing this also, but for me I see it across a range of IP addresses

Working as intended? i.e., site is being scanned perhaps for pages that could be vulnerable?

Hi Timmm088, that is more likely. Next week or the week after we should release an update of the plugin which keeps a log of the requests that are generating the 404 errors. Can you please wait for the update and then report back the findings?

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Hello All,

We just released an update that logs the 404 requests to a log file. Refer to the 2.5.2 release notes for more information.

Can you please install this version and see if the 404 requests the plugin is capturing are valid?

    Keep us posted please.

Are you sure this is working? I upgraded an hour ago and I see the (empty) new subdirectory at wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wp-security-audit-log/404s/ but there’s no log file being written in there for the site I’m watching, despite the dashboard showing more 404 reports.

Ok, I just noticed that in order for the logging to begin, I must change a setting

    https://www.wpsecurityauditlog.com/wordpress-user-monitoring-plugin-documentation/logging-404-requests-urls-logfile/

I will now go manually do this on all 47 of my sites. Thank you.

    Hello,

The options should be enabled by default though it seems that during the upgrade they are not enabled. Give us a few hours and we will release an update with the fix so you do not have to update them manually.

Thank you for doing that, but I’ve just finished. ??
