Has the custom field 'key' changed to be 'name' in new versions of WP?

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to set up thumbnails for the theme I’m using and it asks me to set assign a new custom field with Key and Value – the only problem is I have Name and Value. Can someone confirm I’m not being ridiculous and that WP 3.0.1 has Key as Name now? Else, can someone tell me what I’m not noticing?

  • I don’t exactly understand what the issue you’re facing is.

    WP custom field data is (usually) returned as an array…using “Key” and “Value” are just naming conventions. Your particular theme may use “Name” instead of “Key.”

    Can you post a screenshot of the issue you’re seeing?

    The “Key” for the field is referred to as “Name” in the interface, but it’s still returned as “key” in the code.
