is the plugin author still around?

go see on cubepoints bp integration forums there are lots of useful stuff

Im not asking about the cubepoints bp integration plugin. That one is still being developed.

I’m not sure about this one. The cubepoints.com forum has been down for weeks now. Has it been abandoned?

I don’t think that it has been fully abandoned, but I have tried to contact the authors on more than one occasion and I’ve never received a response.

Yes this plugin has been abandoned.

    @oomskaap,

How do you know that for sure?

Did you speak with any of the authors?

@allenpayne, not really, but I think it is obvious. Even during the cubepoints forum, to see an admin reply was once every 8 months or so. No new modules has been released and I don’t see anyone actively creating hacks or codebits. 90% of the activity is people asking for features and get no replies. The same goes for the admin’s email.

The current state of this plugin works as i should but i doubt it will go much further. The authors probably has no time to actively develop the plugin, which is a real shame. I still use this plugin on my site, and I hire a freelance programmer to do little by little features that I want.

CubePoints.com will be back online soon. Please direct any queries to admin[at]cubepoints[dot]com.

Have any of you tried contacting that email address?

Have any of you tried contacting that email address?

I just tried, and as I suspected, it doesn’t really exist: 550 Unrouteable address.

I wouldn’t have expected a reply anyway. I’ve tried to contact them about the plugin multiple times before and I never received a response. I even offered to take over the plugin’s development if they were ready to pass it on. Nothing.

Before the site went down there was a post made for beta testers for CubePoints 4 to sign up. I did, but nothing has come of it.

You should pick it up anywy JD, the code’s all open source any way isn’t it?

There’s obviously a decent following to make it worthwhile, me included!

@madegood. It certainly is. I would even pay to see this plugin updated on a regular basis.

It would be really nice if someone would take over and continue to develop Cubepoints.
