Hi. Antispam Bee is highly recommended, but I’m reluctant to rely on a plugin that hasn’t been updated for 7 months. Is it still being maintained?

    Kind regards
    Bjarne

  • 9 months actually.
But I can tell that it’s one of the first plugins I install on clients’ sites and it’s doing a great job.
I too hope it wasn’t abandoned. I hope the developer is taking the time for great new features…

He never seems to be looking into this forum, let alone reply to questions and inquiries.

    Support is non-existent whatsoever.

Hm.. Thanks… I hope someone will eventually pick it up, it sounds like a nice plugin…

    10 month now…

OK, after getting more & more spam via Contact-Form since one month…I now changed back to Aksimet & immideately the spam stopped.
Long time Antispam Bee did the work…but it’s over now.

    Hi all!

The original author is not on board anymore:
    https://wptavern.com/sergej-muller-creator-of-antispam-bee-says-goodbye-to-wordpress

But the pluginkollektiv is actively maintaining this plugin. On board are many people (like Alain Schlesser and David Remer) and we are trying to re-write this plugin to make it more future proof, so there is not much work on the old code base (just quick fixes).

So if you have a specific issue, please open a new thread and we will happily have a look.

    Support is non-existent whatsoever.

@superninchen That’s not true. There aren’t many issues lately. That’s it. And this is a free plugin. We are all doing this in our free time.

@treibstoff Antispam Bee is not for Contact Forms. It is just for Comment spam at the moment. There are other spam plugins which are for Contact Forms (there is a Honeypot plugin for CF7 for example which uses a similar approach like ASB).

    All the best,
    Torsten

I beg to differ. Have you looked at the number of topics that had been started with 0 replies for months? What other impression is one supposed to get than that of a non-existent support.

I am aware that it’s a free plugin, but with publishing it comes some sort of minimum responsibility to at least react to questions and problems people have.

At least, now the situation is clear. Thank you for sharing the link with us.

After the bbPress update of this forum there is no plugin support feed anymore so our Slack integration was broken, so we missed some threads. That’s true. Sorry for that.

But as there are not many threads, I think all those issues are local problems (theme or plugin conflicts) and nothing fundamentally broken.

If your or someone else have a specific problem, then please open a new thread!

As you can see on our Github page there is an ongoing development. But as we don’t want to monetarize this plugin we have to wait for developer resources.

If someone want to join us. PRs are always appreciated!

    All the best,
    Torsten
