Hash symbol at end of url

Recently a couple of my websites have a hash symbol at the end of the url. For example it appears like https://www.website.com/#. I really want to remove the hash from my website url. I’ve noticed that a website I didn’t update my SEO Yoast on does not have this problem.
Could the newer version be the problem, and if so how can I revert back to the previous version of Yoast?
