    Hi @dkanika,

Possible, but not allowed per GDPR as pre-checked categories means that you ask the user to opt-out, instead of opt-in.

Please find our earlier article which explains this in more detail, as well as provide a method to do this regardless of the above warning:

    Kind regards,

Hi, thanks for this – and very very interesting, as virtually everyone has it already checked!

    1) Out of curiosity, can you share how can I set it for checked?

    2) Secondly, we use GA4, how does not having checked “analytics” impact info. gathering? What will be omitted in our GA?

    3) Lastly, I configured everything and the banner should be live: https://prnt.sc/26map78 yet the banner doesn’t seem to appear on the live site (ferfinancie . sk)

Edit #3 -> it’s live but i noticed it significantly impacted the website load time…any idea how to mitigate this?

    Thanks!

    Hi @dkanika,

    1) You could use the ‘auto-check extension’ from our GitHub: https://github.com/Really-Simple-Plugins/complianz-gdpr-autocheck.

    2) As your Complianz settings on this site indicate that your implementation of GA is “privacy-friendly” in your targeting region, the IP addresses will be anonymized and the Statistics category will be pre-checked as a result. This may impact Geolocation tracking data on a city level, but should not impact it on a continent/country level.

    3) The Cookie Banner does appear on my end, could you check in an Incognito/Private Browsing window to verify this?

    4) Perhaps you could run a performance test (Lighthouse) with Complianz activated on the site, and one without Complianz activated? This would tell us if there are any notable differences between the two reports, which we can then help to address.

    Just let me know!
    Kind regards,
    Jarno
