Have I been hacked?

  • 2 Questions:

    I have been blogging with comments closed (I may not have closed them in time but I believe that I did), but have got a spam comment caught by Akismet.

    Q1. Have I been hacked and if so what can I do about it?

    Am thinking about implementing the following within .htaccess file placed at: /wp-admin/.htaccess

    AuthUserFile /dev/null
    AuthGroupFile /dev/null
    AuthName “Access Control”
    AuthType Basic
    order deny,allow
    deny from all

    Q2. I realise that the above currently blocks all access but will something like the above prevent most/all types of hacks

    Q3. Is there a way of password protecting the access through the same .htaccess file?
