Have I set it up right?

    Hi,
    I’ve just installed this plugin on my website and tried to set it to appear in a widget. On my screen it shows a rectangle where the ad should be but not showing an ad. Is this because I’ve only just set it up or have I done something wrong?

    thanks for reaching out.

    Yes, it is fair to say that the ad is probably not showing up (yet) because this is a new site or AdSense account.

    Did you add your site in your AdSense account under the “Sites” menu?
    If so, does it give a status?

    Technically, all is fine on your site. You have the AdSense verification code (the one with enable_page_level_ads in it) added twice, which gives a warning, but it wouldn’t prevent ads from showing up. Anyway, I would suggest removing it once.

    It turns out Google says my website doesn’t meet the requirements. I’ve checked for dead links or error in the code and not found any. Could it be because I don’t have content on all the pages yet? I’ve created the pages and setup the navigation, I just need to add content now

    Yes, that is definitely a requirement they take serious these days. They only accept pages with content nowadays.

    I would continue writing for some time and keep the verification code so that they check in regularly.
