    WordPress user with ‘author’ role can edit his own posts only by default. But he sees all existing post at the posts list page.

    If you need that author sees at wp-admin posts list page his own posts only it’s not possible inside WordPress default permissions model.

    User Role Editor Pro includes edit restrictions add-on, which allows to turn ON “Own data only” option for the user or his role.
