• I have a parent category with child subcategories.

    For instance…

    NAME is the parent

    Joe
    Mike
    Bob

    are the subcategories.

If I write a post and categorize it as Bob, only Bob shows up under categories, not NAME.

Since Bob is a subcategory, I thought that NAME would show up because it is the parent of Bob, and Bob would clearly, by the indent of the categories, appear as a child of NAME.

What happens, though, is that I have to check both NAME and Bob to get the parent to show. But then, that just categorizes the post into both the parent and child category. Also, the child category doesn’t appear any differently than the parent, so it doesn’t look like a subcategory.

What I’m attempting to do is have that parent category show as long as there is a post that is categorized under one of its child categories.

    Is that not possible?

    Thank you!
