• Have loved this plugin for so long and would have given it 5 stars, but I have to keep reverting to 7.3 or else I get “The following required properties are missing: og:image” even when there is a featured image.

  • Hi @nicoleamanda,

    Thanks for your comment.

That’s not expected behaviour. Are you running the latest version of Yoast SEO v8.1.2 and WordPress v4.9.8? If you’re already up-to-date and the problem persists, we’d need additional information in order to better assist you:

    • Does the problem occur on all your pages or just on some of them?
    • If you define an image for Facebook in the Yoast SEO metabox, does the problem resolve?
    • Is the problem still the same when all non-Yoast plugins are deactivated and your theme is on Twenty Seventeen?
    • Can you please provide an URL of a post or page where this is occurring?

Yes, I tried updating both and the effor always occurs and I have to revert. I have already been in a forum where it is happening to many others, and plugin support is aware but has not yet fixed it. It happens to all blog posts when not on 7.3. A different thing happens when deactivated, because Facebook doesn’t play nice anymore, but Yoast DOES make it work when I’m on 7.3. I cannot link to an occuring at the moment because I’m on 7.3 and functioning. I’m not updating until I’ve been guarunteed its been fixed because I’ve already worked with one of your support several times, messing up my blog trying to get it to work.

    Hi @nicoleamanda,

    Thanks for following up.

We’ve tried to replicate this is issue in our test environment using Yoast SEO v8.2 but to no avail. The image we define for Facebook in the Yoast SEO metabox is correctly output in the og:image tag of our blog posts.

If the problem remains for you after updating to the most recent version of the plugin (v8.2), please feel free to create a new topic in the plugin forum so that our support team can investigate it further.

    Thanks!

I have already done that as well, it just keeps getting redirected to another forum where they say they’re working on it but nothings happened for months.
