• I’m trying to have different widgets in the footer of my site, based on the page language.

What I saw suggested was to add multiple widgets to the footer and choose what language each one should be displayed for.

From what I could tell Polylang has the ability to choose a language for legacy widgets (https://polylang.pro/doc/widgets/) but for some reason I don’t have that option (it also says “Translate menus and widgets” on https://polylang.pro/downloads/polylang/).

I’m on latest Polylang (Version 3.5.3) and WordPress 6.4.2 running Kadence theme.

    Thanks

    Thanks @abone6

I am using widgets in the footer but I don’t see that option in any widget. What do I need to do in order to see it?

Customize – Widget – Footer Widget

I have created Text Widget so when I have double click I can see above linked options

I totally don’t see that. I’m using Kadence with the block editor, what are you using?

Not sure what you mean by that, I shared that same link in my original question. Based on that page choosing a widget language should be available, at least for legacy widgets. but the option isn’t there for some reason.

I’m using legacy widgets but don’t see those options. Do I need to have Polylang Pro for this? (from what I can tell you’re only supposed to need pro for widgets block editor)

This is what I see when editing a widget. I don’t have the “This widget is displayed for”:

    Any idea why?

Any idea what could be the reason I can’t choose a widget language?

Or a different solution for setting up different content in the footer per language?

    Did you made this work?

I am having the same doubts as you.

I couldn’t get any support on this so ended up writing custom code to show/hide widgets based on the language of the page. So I basically have double widgets in the footer and then with custom PHP code hide and show the relevant ones.

@guymal Could you please share me some images about what you did?

I’ve been trying for a few days now, and I can’t make it happen, thanks so much.
