having trouble finding CSS and HTML files to edit

    I am having trouble modifying the CSS and HTML files associated with my site. I know how to inspect an element using firebug, but am having trouble figuring out exactly where to find the files being inspected so that I can edit them. There are no ‘numbered lines’ in the CSS Stylesheet within the WordPress admin section. What is a straightforward way to find the files being ‘inspected’ in Firebug?

  • It’s not advisable modifying your files via the WordPress Admin. Your better to access your files via FTP, and opening / modifying them using a text editor program (for example TextPad for Windows) that can show the line numbers.
