Is it possible to work in WordPress on your PC? I have WordPress installed on my shared hosting server currently. Is it easier to edit it from there or better to have the WordPress Application on my PC? If on my PC then I need to FTP files back and forth all the time? I have made a backup of the server files on my machine.
    Thank you.

  • It depends. It’s certainly easier to have a locally installed version of WordPress if you’re developing/customising a theme or a plugin. But if you’re just creating posts/pages, I’d say no – it’s not worth it.

Thanks. Is it possible to have one copy of WP on the server and one on your local computer? Probably not as might need to edit both at the same time, correct?

Well, I’ve got 2 local WP installs running but neither bear any resemblance to any of the WP sites that I own or run. As I said, if you’re not actively developing/coding, it isn’t worth it.
