Header and body

Okay as you can see on this website https://comingsoon.net they have the header and the body combined. I want to do the same thing. As you can see on mine the header is black and the body is a fade but the fade does not go smoothly, any way to take the header away and do the fade right fromt he top to the bottom of the page?
