header columns

  • how would i go about splitting the header into 3 or 4 columns? say I want my logo to float on the lefthand side, then in column right next to it with thin border i want to change the background to another colour and add text?

    anyone? see it maybe as dividing header into blocks where i can assign background for each block. adding text would be great too and maybe position it correctly ??
