  • I cannot reproduce this in my test. My guess is that a plugin you are using is interfering here. Could you deactivate all plugins as a test?

    It occurs when I disable the comment function.

    Disabling the plugins doesn’t change anything.

    I can reproduce that. The cause is that the language text contains HTML encoded characters – also in the English original in the programming.

    I am just unsure how to report this to the developers. Maybe someone is reading here who can describe the procedure.

    You could solve it for yourself by adjusting the language text. Install Loco Translate and edit the text. This worked well for me.

    I looked up #&8222; and found this Trac ticket. It appears to be a known issue that’s affecting several themes. You can find some solutions in the Trac ticket itself.

    I just made several fixes to the german translation of the Twenty Nineteen Theme. This should be ok now out of the box.
