After the last update to WP, I began getting the following error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/customer/www/execleadercoach.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-post-nav/admin/partials/wp-post-nav-admin-instructions.php:13) in /home/customer/www/execleadercoach.com/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 1310

This error only shows up in the WP workspace, doesn’t show up on the live website, and doesn’t prevent the WP Nav plugin from working on the live site.

    Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Can you provide an email address so I can send you a modified instructions file to see if that fixes the error.

Please advise if you are able to manually edit / replace files or I can send a complete plugin for you to upload to your wp-admin

    @jo4nny8,

Thanks for your quick response. I probably can figure out how to edit or replace files, but I generally don’t get too deep into the WP theme. I am using the PRO theme for this site (https://execleadercoach.com). Obviously, it would be easier for me to uninstall the existing plugin and reinstall your modified plugin.

    email is [email protected].

Ive just sent you a modified version. Please advise if this fixes the error and I will make the modification and upload it to the plugin repository

You MUST unzip and upload the folder contents to the wordpress ‘plugins’ folder so it overwrites the current plugin if you have made modifications inside wp=admin to the plugin (changed colours, font sizes etc) (the plugin deletes its options on deletion which is the only way you can overwrite the current version)

If you haven’t made any changes, then you can delete the current version and upload this one inside the plugins section of wordpress

    Hi John,
Thanks so much for your help.

Since I made no changes (other than checkbox selections), I deleted the previous version and installed the new version the way I normally would. Your zip file installed perfectly.

However, it did not fix the error message. ?? Is there a way I can help you more? Are you familiar with the PRO template? Maybe it’s the problem?

Im not familiar with the PRO theme, however ive just sent another modified version if you can check if this works.

Failing that ill rewrite the function for fetching the instruction page.

    Thanks for the feedback

    Hi John,
I’m sorry for the delay. Busy day yesterday.

WooHoo! Version 3 installed perfectly and the warning message is gone! Thanks so much for your attention. I am grateful—even though the warning message didn’t cause any issues on the website itself, it was disconcerting to keep seeing it.

I love this plugin and I recommended it to others when they need this functionality.

Apologies I thought I had updated and committed the new files to the repository, but I hadn’t.

Version 1.0.2 has now been submitted so you should see an update message inside WordPress with the latest version with the fix included.

    Hi John,

Thank you so much for the reply I saw updates available & updated plugin as well but I am still getting same error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/stoneleg/public_html/domainname.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-post-nav/admin/partials/wp-post-nav-admin-instructions.php:12) in /home/stoneleg/public_html/domainname.com/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 1310

    Let me know please.

    Thanks,
