• Hi,
I am currently using the Twenty Twenty-Three WordPress theme for my website, and I have encountered an issue regarding the header section. There seems to be a persistent gap from the top that I’m unable to remove or adjust.

Description of the Issue: Whenever I add a background color or image to the header section of the Twenty Twenty-Three theme, a gap appears at the top, creating an unwanted space between the header and the top of the page. This issue persists regardless of the device or browser I use to view the website

Expected Outcome: I expect the header section to seamlessly blend with the top of the page without any gap between them.

Actual Outcome: The header section displays a noticeable gap from the top, which negatively impacts the visual appearance of the website.

Hey @ramf – I know exactly the problem you mean ??

That padding is coming from the Site’s overall layout settings – adding padding to the top and bottom of the site.

The good news is that’s something you can change (to remove the padding) by going to the Editor > Styles > Layout.

    Styles overview

You can see a brief video showing how to make that change here:

    Hi @jordesign
    Thanks for your help.
The interesting thing is that is was set to 0 but it did not work, I had to manually change it so higher number and then back to 0 – and only then it worked.
    You can see it here:

    Any way now it’s working.
    Thanks!

Hi @ramf – ah yes I see what you mean.

That is because when the slider is at the far left – it means it is using the default value of padding/margin – which is not always 0. When you change it – you’re able to slide it to make things bigger or smaller.

I do agree it’s a bit of an oddity – for what it is worth, it’s something that has been reported and is being worked on in the way the editor behaves.
