• Even though I’m using the suggested header image dimensions (1000 x 250), the image will not display properly – it appears to be tiled. How can this be fixed?

  • the css rule to stop it would be

    `
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    `

    That’s what I figured, but I’m not sure why I should have to do that. I feel like it should just work out of the box. It’s a free theme, though, so no complaints.

    Still isn’t working. I’m about to abandon this theme and find another.

    Hi tmac7
    I had the same problem. The issue is that the “suggested dimensions” are wrong. The default header image is 1600×250. When I changed my image to that size all was good-no tiling
    I am however experiencing a display issue on different platforms and browsers, so that not all are centered. I am going to start my own topic for that.

    Thanks, but I already fixed it – it wasn’t an issue with the image size.

    Was this header issue resolved. I am not understanding from the threads what really worked.

    In the CSS code the size of the image 1000×250. I am using that size and it is tiling. It seems that I have to add the background attribute and indicate no tiling for it to work.

    Can someone confirm that. Is there somewhere in this theme to have custom code?

    Try changing the width of the image in the CSS file to 1600px. You can make the height whatever you want and crop it later. You may want to change the dimensions of the image in the header.php file instead. If you decide to make these changes, though, you might want to create a child theme. That way you won’t have to touch your core files.

    Thank you tmac7. I will give that a try. I did put in the CSS Style Sheet background-repeat: no-repeat, but it didn’t appear to do anything at all. Thanks for your help. I am so inexperienced with wordpress. This is only the 3rd website I have built using WordPress, so the child theme concept is completely foreign to me. I am not sure how to do that. I may have to do some YouTube viewing. I do know how to find the code and edit it and from everything I heard that’s not the best thing to do. I thought there was a place to create custom code and use that instead of changing the core. If this doesn’t work out I may have to change themes. Thank you so much for your speedy response.
