    You can try out the header image option.

    Appearance -> Customize -> Site Wide options ( tab ) -> Header Design -> Header Design.
    find the setting -> use a header banner image
    check this setting to reveal options.

    The recommended image size stated in the option is 1380 × 280 pixel
