• Hi, I have added a new custom header image to my WordPress website. But the image is not visible in any browser.

There is just a little icon, that implicates that the image cannot be viewed.

In the section where I can select a new header, the example is showed correctly.

The image size is correct as well.

My previous custom header was working well before.

    Any help will be appriciated.

  • Hey there,

It seems that the image is broken. Can you see it in the admin section on the designated url? This can happen if you hit “Set as featured image” while it’s still uploading the image.

Edited: Could also be because it’s a gif image. You could try .jpg or .png

    Hi,

The example of the new custom header is showed correctly in the admin section where I can change the header image. ‘Appearance -> Header

I have no button saying “Set as featured image” and if I remember correctly there is a button like that in the blog section.

I’ve tried both png and jpg files. And as a matter of fact, the gif file is the old custom header and that one should have been gone.

    Hey @huurminkamer,

Have you checked that it has the right url? I see that you have “WordPress” in your URL address and by default this shouldn’t be here.

Slider images also tend to be sometimes kinda tricky since they want the exactly right address. Could you show an URL for the picture you want to add there?

Can you set the default header if it’s stays visible?

    Hi Nico,

Thanks for reminding me of the URL, I manually edited the header.php with the correct URL to the image. And the header does show correct now.

Of course this isn’t the way it should work, but it did.

I probably tampered too much with my installation.

I have tried to move my website out of the ‘WordPress’ folder but didn’t succeed. But in a few month I will have a new website anyways. This was just to have the new logo already in the old website.

Thanks and have a nice weekend.
