I am trying to update my header image, but the change won’t go through. I have updated it several times, removed the original image, and nothing works. The original image is still there, even though in the theme customization tool, it displays the updated picture as the current header image (on the left in the panel), but on the right in the preview screen it still shows the old image. I have tried several browsers and same result.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

So it doesn’t change in the Customizer preview? Have you tried Saving in the Customizer and then viewing your site directly? If you’re using any caching plugins on your site you might need to clear the site cache as well to see the change.

Also keep in mind this theme uses featured image headers, so if any post or page has a featured image set, that image will display instead of the custom header for the site. That’s why you’ll see a different image on each page on your site.

You’ll only see the actual custom header on posts or pages without a featured image, or on archive pages like https://leadseek.net/author/leadseek/ or https://leadseek.net/blog/

Correct – it doesn’t change in the customizer preview. I have tried saving it and viewing the site directly, yes. There is still no change. I just tried clearing the cache and that had no effect. I’ve been unable to see the change for several weeks now. This is not a featured image. This is the actual header and the page I’m trying to change is the home page, which doesn’t have a featured image.

Nope. On second glance you were right. I had set a featured image on the home page for some reason. Thanks for the tip!

    Glad I could help ??

    Hi,
I am trying to update my header image (on pages and posts), but the change won’t go through (frontend or backend).
    I’ve…
    >updated it 4xs,
    >emptied cache (on local and WP),
    >removed images from “Featured” and reloaded
    >removed/reloaded in Theme Customization>Header section
    >disabled all plug-ins
Still, the header only shows a default background. I’ve tried several browsers and still get the same result.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
