  • Hi @arenol,

Firstly: Apologies for the delay in reply here. Automattic (the folk behind the theme you’re using) were away at our annual company retreat last week, but we’re back now.

I wasn’t able to replicate the issue with the clipped logo on my own installation of Goran and am currently seeing your full logo when visiting https://www.emap.no/wordpress.

Can you confirm if you’re now seeing your full logo when visiting your site, too?

Unless you took other steps to fix the issue, the cause may have been caching.

Well, Goran specifically asks for a square logo with a minimum size of 512 pixels. I’m a bit puzzled by this as most loges are not square.

You must not see the current web page at https://www.emap.no/wordpress, as I’m constantly trying to find a workaround. My current solution is to make a square transparent image with the logo placed in the top of the image. The result is that the dark header line becomes much wider than wanted, and thus wastes precious vertical space. To compensate for this, I hade to make the logo smaller than I wanted.

I have been unable to find a solution modifying the CSS, which could (should?) have been another option.

A better solution is to allow rectangular logoes in the Goran theme, as most logoes indeed are rectangular.

    Hi @arenol,

I believe you’re referring to the recommendations for the site icon rather than the logo here. The site icon and logo are uploaded in the same place (via Appearance > Customize > Site Title, Tagline, and Logo) but serve two different purposes:

    • The site icon, also known as a favicon, is the image that appear to the top left of your browser’s address bar.
    • The site logo appears alongside the title on your actual site.

Goran doesn’t restrict the size of the logo to a square or to be 512px in width. You can upload logos that are rectangular.

I’ve created a screenshot of how your logo looks to me after visiting https://www.emap.no/wordpress here:

Can you confirm that you’re seeing something different to the above? If so, can you double check a different browser and let me know if you can replicate the problem there?

    Thanks!
