Hi guys,

I am using Smart Slider Pro for a few days now. Really happy with the possibility and I like the learning curve. Getting to understand all the possibilities is a fun journey! However, one small part is frustrating me, because I can not find out what is going on.

The desktop version of the website works as intended. The issue only arises on the mobile and tablet versions. Since we are still building the website we are often clearing the cache to push certain changes and see if everything is working as intended. This is when we discovered this issue.

As soon as we clear the Cloudflare cache (using WP Rocket addon) and refresh the website the header and text disappear from the mobile and tablet versions.

The only way to get it back is to go to the homepage in Elementor and save the page again. Like magic it appears again! So, what am I missing? There must be something funny going on in the background?

Plugins I am using are: Elementor Pro, Rank Math Pro, Smart Slider Pro and WP Rocket. Nothing else. Hosting at Kinsta, with Cloudflare integration.

If anyone can shine a light on this I would be forever thankful, since it seriously is driving me nuts.

I checked your site and currently there are no texts on the slider even on the desktop version: https://imgur.com/zhHZhSD
Are you checking the site as a “logged in” user on desktop? Because generally caches don’t run for logged in users, which would explain why everything appears to be fine there.

Looking at the page I think the problem happens because of some kind of optimization, as when adding a query string after the URL (e.g. ?asdf) the slider loads just fine. Try running a plugin and theme conflict test:

and make sure you check your site as a non-logged in user.

Finally managed to fix it! I am posting the solution here in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

The problem was the “optimize CSS delivery” of WP Rocket. I had it set on “remove unused CSS”, but that was somehow breaking things. By setting it to “load CSS asynchronously” the problem was gone.
