Header text size

Hello,
I wanted to find out how to change the size of my primary menu which is set as my header. It has a very small and thin size, and when changing in the typhogra[hy section in customizer, I can only change the font size of main body texts and titles for posts and pages. I tried adding CSS I found online elsewhere but it doesn’t seem to work. My theme is ‘The Journal’.
Any help is much appreciated, thank you!
