Header Title last to load

  • Hi,

    Setting-up Legacy child theme on Genesis. The Mobile version loads quickly on my iPhone except for the Header Title. Site opens with Title Tag, Header right widget, background color, and nav bar…3 secs later the Title appears.

    Pingdom test results are inconclusive re: site speed because it varies depending on day and time of day, But always the test report shows the Header taking time loading.

    Using Quick Cache. Any ideas how I might go about speeding things up?

  • Check for Markup errors at W3 Markup Validation Service and I prefer Google PageSpeed Insights as it seems to get to the issue at hand more readily…

    Linking to the site in question here may help forum users to provide additional already known information…If we cannot even see the site, we would be hard pressed to help you troubleshoot a performance issue with it..

    Hi again,

    Thanx for your recommendations…didn’t have a clue they existed. I went to W3 and ran 2 tests, the Mobile & CSS. Both came back with issues. In fact the Mobile test returned 3 Header references but fact is I haven’t a clue what they mean, how important they are, or what to do about them. On the other hand,

    I’m a bit more comfortable working with css so I’m going back to my site now and see if I can correct the 11 issues it uncovered.

    Hi SWDM,

    Back again tonight…you got my attention earlier. I just went to the Google Page speed and I like it better also. Some of the W3 comments didn’t make sense but it did point out some other minor issues that I corrected. Thanx so much for that guidance. I didn’t know about it.

    On the other hand, Google Page Speed is very clear. I’m just beginning to examine the results and I don’t understand them completely but there’s a lot to see. The only page it checked was my home page which is a video blog. I assume it will check each page I submit. I might return with questions as I get into the report. In any event you turned me onto an evaluator that I must be aware of even if I can’t do anything about all of it right now. Thank you.
