Header Video troubleshooting

    I have not been able to add a video as the header on my page.

    I’ve followed all the guidelines on the Appearance/Customize/Header Media page:
    “Upload your video in .mp4 format and minimize its file size for best results. Your theme recommends dimensions of 980 × 450 pixels.”

    .mp4 format
    980 x 450 size
    under 8MB filesize

    I converted the original video file from .mov (303.6MB QuickTime movie) to .mp4 (13.3MB) and kept compressing it until it reached 7.7 MB.

    It also says “Or, enter a YouTube URL:” so
    I even uploaded it to YouTube and tried sharing the URL – https://youtu.be/KWhggHA-82M

    but it will not show up on my page. It just leaves the header section blank.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello Marcia,

    Let me start by apologizing for the inconvenience caused by this issue.
    The theme doesn’t actually display the video in the header, it only has an image slideshow.
    It looks like support for this feature was incorrectly declared during a previous theme update. so the UI allows for the selection of the video, but in reality the theme doesn’t do anything about it.
    I will remove the video support declaration in the next theme update.
    Again, sorry for the confusion.

    ok thank you. I thought I was going crazy trying to figure out why it wasn’t working.
