header width stretched beyond the 960 px – twenty twelve

After several months up and running I attempted to decrease the slider width. {It is set at 940) Some way I managed to have the whole page stretch out beyond the 960 pixels setting. The slider container is also stretched out past the setting. The max is set at 2000.
Help please.
