I designed a new theme, and uploaded it to the site in a secondary folder. When I log out of wp, the headers and footers disappear… what is happening?

  • Hi Buckylulu, one thing I noticed — the header and footer are there on the page, but they’ve turned white and therefore invisible. If you mouse around, you’ll see the mouseover links show up in the white space.

Not sure what’s happening, but could you give a few more details? Was the theme built from scratch or adapted from an existing theme? When you log back in, do the headers reappear again? Have you made any recent changes to the css? Are there any other pages in your site that are working, with or without the header and footer?

I notice your logo is white on a transparent background, which leads me to think you had a coloured header background so it would show up. Perhaps the colour has just been accidentally stripped out of the css for the header and footer backgrounds?

The theme was built from scratch…so it may have been messed up there. Check the site again, I figured out what the problem was (yes, within the css), but now I am noticing that the copyright info and the 3 links at the bottom have been moved up to the top footer…

Have you fixed it? It looks okay from here…
