This plugin provides a [heart_this_hearts] shortcode. Have you tried it?

Nope, didn’t work.

UPDATE: today it is working with the [heart_this] shortcode on multiple sites. the [hearts_this_hearts] does not work for Genesis.

Sorry about that, the correct shortcode is [heart_this]. The docs in the plugin are incorrect and I’ll get them updated in the next release.
