    Hi,

This has been happening for a while now. Even though the plugin is saving the clicks and taps (I see the count on the backend) I am unable to see the heatmap when I click the View Heat Map button, nor can I see it if I manually add the URL parameter.

Checked this thread as well but didn’t help much. Deactivation/Reactivation wasn’t helpful either. My site.

    Hi Hassan,

Looking at the generated source code, the drawing of the heat map is disabled and saving the clicks and taps is also disabled. Can you please enable them so I can test again? Thanks.

    Daniel.

dpowney, I’m not sure what you mean, but I have the options “Save mouse clicks and touch screen taps” and “Enable drawing heat map” both checked in the plugin’s settings. I’m still unable to see any heat maps.

How do you know they’re disabled from the source code?

Plugins typically add some JavaScript code into your page. I can see the generated code behind the webpage by using some debugging tools such as Firebug. Therefore some of the plugin options are also visible.

Do you have any URL filters turned on?

Yes, I do… for the homepage only. A whitelist filter, that is.

OK. Can you try deleting your existing URL filters and add a single one for your home page?

    Hi Hassan,

I found a bug with the URLs for the whitelist. Version 2.2.2 is available and should fix the issue. You do not have to deactivate or activate the plugin for this bug fix as well. Let me know when you download the latest changes so I can check your website.

Thanks again for helping me improve the plugin.

    Ok, I updated.

Excellent. I can see it works now. I tested with window width 1583px and clicked on the Home menu option. The hot spot is showing. Are you happy to mark this as resolved?

Ok, but I only see one green dot on my homepage even though in the backend there is a count of +500 clicks and taps. Why?

    Hi Hassan,

2.2.3 available now should fix that. Please deactivate and then activate after downloading.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi dpowney,

Im having this exact same issue. I followed all your instructions listed here including updating to version 2.2.3 and deleting all my URL filters. It says in admin that my homepage has 83 clicks and the map is drawling only 4 that i can see (2 of them were from me clicking the draw heat map page to test). Other pages show a couple but not the 30-60 clicks that the admin area states.

I was running 2.2.1 before this…does the update not have backwards compatibility for the saved clicks to draw them?

    Hi,

It should be backward compatible. Can you please provide me your width data for the 83 clicks on your Home page so I can investigate? Did you deactivate and then activate after updating to version 2.2.3?

    Thank you.
    Daniel.

Yes I did deactivate and then activate after updating and I just did again for good measure but still no luck. Here is a screen shot of my homepage data.

    Hi,

I checked and I can see each heat map when I resize the window width, change browser and zoom levels, device pizel ratios etc… Google Chrome seems to be returning funny device pixel ratio and browser zoom levels (e.g. 1000% and 10:1). I will look into fixing that for new clicks and taps. I also noticed you cannot fully see the information panel which shows you the width when you resize. I will make a change soon to place the information panel on top.

    Thanks,
    Daniel.

There is also an option to ignore device pixel ratio and ignore zoom levels. But the heat maps may not be accurate if you enable these. This could be a temporary workaround for Google Chrome.
