Heavy handed advertising

  • Yoast always has had some pretty big and bold advertising on the plugins page, which I can understand to a degree, although I think selling to their email list would be more profitable than dashboard spam. The Black Friday Spam of 2019, as it shall forever be known, was too much. And all of this for an inferior product to their competitors. There was a day when there was only one other major option to Yoast, that’s no longer the case.

    We understand that the Black Friday banner was annoying. Although it was dismissable, it was a bit buggy so we listened to our community and yesterday we publicly apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused to our users (link to Twitter) and released Yoast SEO v12.6.2 which completely removes the banner from the admin panel.
