I’ve started using the plugin today, and i’m wondering if there is any method of deleting the current useless thumbnails?

    Thanks

Can you be more specific? Where are you seeing the thumbnails? In the Admin Area somewhere? On the front-end? Etc.

thanks for the quick reply, Actually, I noticed in the FTP site that i have sometimes 33 versions of the same image. and this is eating my shared hosting quota. like just now.. my uploads folders contains 3130 image, while in the media library only uploaded 216 images.

sorry i didn’t mention that earlier, but that was the reason why i was searching into removing duplicated files.

Yeah the “Disable Responsive Images” plugin only helps with cleaning up how the images are displayed on the front-end (e.g., it prevents all the extra image markup, et al). It doesn’t do anything to stop all the extra images from being generated in the first place.

To disable any/all of the extra images created by WordPress, check out How to Disable WordPress Automatically Generated Images – Complete Guide.

Let me know if any questions, glad to help however possible.

so i can either use the plugin or the code you’ve mentioned? or i have to use both!
I’ve already installed the plugin, do i still need to apply the code?!

sorry for the questions, but i’m new to this.

    thanks again.

Okay so the plugin, Disable Responsive Images Complete, does not remove any images. It only changes the HTML so that the extra responsive image markup is disabled. You can learn more about this in the plugin documentation.

Then to remove unwanted images, you can use a different plugin (if you can find one), or you can find a developer to add the required code, make the required changes, etc.
