Roles in WordPress

    Where I work there are several departments that are legally separate organizations, but are all under one roof. I think multi-site looks like it will be the solution for me. Is it possible for it to take on the form of domain\department1, domain.com\department2… rather than department1.domain.com, department2.domain.com

    I was assigned to move an old IIS website to wordpress. I am an IT guy not a web developer so I am hoping for some friendly direction here. With IIS I was able to set up ACLs for everyone, WordPress was not my choice.

    In an ideal world, I would to have the site setup so that all workers can write drafts but only the departmental heads could publish; is that possible?
