After updating the theme today, our whole page went invisible, showing the text “Stylesheet missing”. When checking backend, the theme isn’t showing, only the text:

    vantage
    Version: false
    By false

    false

Seems like backend still works, but frontend is not ok. Please help me – fast (got a little panic)

  • Hi

Sorry, I’m not quite sure what the issue might be. Try switching to another theme, deleting Vantage and reinstalling the theme.

I tried that already. When I change to another theme, the theme “Vantage” isn′t visible as a alternative, so i cannot uninstall it.

If that’s what you’re seeing you’ll need to delete the theme folder manually. Go to /wp-content/themes/ and delete the ‘vantage’ folder. You can access your server via FTP or Hosting File Manager.

That worked it out. Thanks for your help!

This bug freaked me out a bit. It′s been a few times we′ve had problems when updating this theme. Don′t feel so secure. Unfortunately, we will probably have to change theme later on because of that.

Glad to hear you’ve made progress.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure why it’s happening but it’s very unlikely there is anything specific in Vantage that’s interrupting the normal update process. The WordPress core is handling the updater, not the theme, all that’s happening is the folder is being updated. Sorry, I don’t have more to offer on that.

Im grateful you had your time to help me. Really fast too. Hopefully this (deleted and reinstalled) will work also in future updates. I so, we can stick to the theme. Time will tell. Thanks again, wish you a fine week!

For sure. You could also consider updating manually which would involve downloading the ZIP from the theme page (https://www.ads-software.com/themes/vantage/), switching to any other theme, deleting Vantage and then installing the new ZIP from Themes > Add New > Upload Theme.
