  • Excerpts strip out HTML tags and images. What theme are you using?

ahh sorry i coudnt see… https://themes.themegoods.com/hades_wp/ this is my theme. Im using the https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-youtube-player/ plugin wich i use [tube] [/tube] command to place videos in the article. I make sure its in Text mode and not visual aswell, any ideas? cheers

If that page is using the_excerpt – it WILL strip out HTML code

We don’t have access to commercial themes, so you’ll likely need to ask the developer of your theme for help –

Its not using the Excerpt function underneath were i write the article. It is choosing somewere to start i just cant find it, i need this done to nite, i live in Australia and wont be able to reply to template creator until 2morow ;( chees anyway

Are you switching between the visual and text editors? That will strip code too. Are you just using the URL for the video per:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Embeds

Yea lol im switching between the two in TinyMCE and yes i am embedding many videos with the same [tube] code

okay i just tried CKEditor and then i click SOURCE so it appears as code form then i insert the code [tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcWzVUlrzdc[/tube] and yet it still comes up on my front page as code zzzzzz

    Switch to the twentytwelve theme.

    Create a new post.

Use only the TEXT editor – do not switch editors.

    See if that works.

You should also just be pasting this in your post:

Meh had no luck with that, its okay for the moment, thanks for your help i will just Post the video code (need to use [tube] for the plugin to work] below the text so it should solve it. Is their any html code that could just hide the code? i find it hard to believe i cant hide code from showing as an excerpt lol
    cheers for the help~!

    Or use

    [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcWzVUlrzdc[/embed]

That works too using the explicit [embed]...[/embed] shortcode like that.

    Thanks Jan it worked :p
Ill just go through wp-youtube-player plugin and change [tube] to [embed] and it should work hey?

For YouTube yes, that should work.

*Re-reads* WAIT. Don’t edit that plugin!

YouTube is supported by WordPress natively and you don’t need a plugin for that [embed]...[/embed] code. You don’t have to edit that plugin, the shortcode I sent you was using the built in oEmbed YouTube handler.

SOLVED – thanks WPyogi and Jan!!
    Solution:
    [embed][tube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcWzVUlrzdc[/tube][/embed]
