    Hi out there.

On Sunday I went in to upgrade Backwpup and I got this and now I can’t get into the Dashboard at all. Can’t do a thing. Can’t even tell you the version of WordPress. If I try to go in I get the WordPress login screen then this exact message (I have “x out my server name).

Fatal error: Class ‘BackWPup_Adminbar’ not found in /home/XXXXXXX/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/backwpup.php on line 241

I am not a developer level user so anyone that can help please give me a little more detail than usual on how I can get out of this predicament. I can get into CPanel and see the folders and I am hoping I can uninstall or delete the plugin from there? I did backup my work but it’s the backup plugin causing the problem so I couldn’t recover even if I wanted to.

Note I have shown the version as I can’t get into anywhere that can tell me. I set this site up initially in March so I guess it’s several versions back.

Thanks a lot for helping if you can. I did a day and a half’s work before this lockout so I am really worried about losing this plus my site is down as I had it offline.

    Regards
    John

Hi again Krishna, the index.php I am talking about was in the old plugin folder I renamed folderplugins_corrupted. See above message of mine 3 back which shows the contents of that folder. It was dated 16 April so maybe another process I haven’t used in the last few days creates it. It’s not in the new plug-in folder.

I suppose I could just copy it into the new folder or perhap I am safer to leave it out? What do you think?

Anyway I will just get your thoughts on above and close this topic. I have learned a lot and you have been awesome Krishna!

Oh that! Rename (remove _corrupted) it as it comes with the core files.

It’s not in the new plug-in folder.

You can just copy (in notepad, name it as index.php) and place it in the new folder.

See this is how your host’s site appears now.

I mentioned here that your server was down. Then I posted what I got when I tried to visit your host’s site. I think it’s OK now. Your site also looks great! Is it so?
