Help-Cannot display time,categories, or change the format of date

  • Hello, everyone! First of all, I’ve found these forums very helpful. I’m very new to WordPress, and I am excited to use it. I hope that someone can assist me with my problem–

    I’ve been altering a template, and it is starting to look how I want it to.

    But whenever I make a post, it won’t list the time nor the categories. Also, whenever I try to change the format of the date, it will not change. I first used this
    as a reference (as well as the links on that page), but I cannot figure out how to fix this.

    Does anyone have any idea what could possibly be going wrong?

    Nono, you misunderstand me — I plan on switching to wordpress, but I have not done so yet. I want to be comfortable with wordpress before I make the switch, so I’ve been tinkering around with it. My question is about wordpress.

    It seems you go in the wrong order. First understand it and tweak a theme only after that.
    And never ask display and design related questions without a link to the blog. We are not good at guessing…
