• Okay firstly – I registered a domain name through dream host several months ago, set up wordpress and was able to use it easily for 6 months. I decided to change my domain name, so I registered a new one through dream host, and for the last two days have been attempting to setup wordpress in the same way but I cannot get it to work this time!

I can get wordpress installed to the point where I have a dashboard and can edit my theme, etc. At that point I go to the General Setting and change the site URL and home URL to the domain I have just registered (www.eimarhedesigns.com). As soon as I change BOTH of them, I can no longer log in or do anything in wordpress, all it says is Safari cannot open the page because safari cannot find the server (www.eimarhedesigns.com)

Am I doing something incorrectly through wordpress – or did something go askew when I attempted to register a new domain? I don’t understand why I was able to figure this out before but now it’s not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    – One possibility is that DNS/nameserver records are not fully propagated yet. It can take anything from 24 – 72 hours for DNS/nameserver records to fully propagate. Second, different networks will update at different times during this period. That is, bear in mind that just because one provider has updated their records, it doesn’t mean that another will.

    – Every single hosting provider handles this differently, so you may need to get in touch with your hosting provider for more details.

    Hi,

Do changes in database also.Open wp_option table and change site_url and home_url.site _url on first page of table and home_url on 2nd page.
