I can’t log in to my WP site.
Sometimes the log in screen will come up and sometimes it won’t. When it does come up and I log in it spins and spins and the screen is completely blank. Sometimes it tells me it timed out from the server.

    My website shows up intermittently.

My host tells me its a WP issue..

I am not technically savvy, so this is super frustrating.

    Yes,

    html
    -(Apache Logs)
    -cgi
    -spatreats
    -wordpress
    -wp-admin
    -wp-content
    –pluginsOLD
    –themes
    —spatreatsHOLD
    —twentyeleven
    —twentythirteen
    —twentytwelve

Hmm, that’s weird that it was working before and not now. Had you updated to WP3.6 yet? I’m guessing not.

See what happens if you change those back. Also, see if you can find out how to look at the error logs on your server.

I updated to 3.6 when the problem first started (my thought was that the problem was being caused by not updating). When it didn’t fix the problem, I reverted back to 3.5 through my file manager/host.

I just changed the theme spatreatsHOLD back to spatreats.
    PluginsOLD is still the same.

    Any change?

Ok, I can pull up website, but still can’t log in. Plug ins aren’t working, which is right, cause they’re still renamed (tested a form to see)

I don’t know how to get error logs…?

Btw, thank you for helping so far. This is so frustrating!

In case it matters, the only things that have changed (cause I’ve made NO changes to my files or website for weeks) is that my hosting was due to be renewed and I did so, and that my theme, spatreats, has an update that I haven’t installed.

So if your theme works and the default themes evidently don’t, that’s very weird. I’m thinking something got messed up when you reverted back to 3.5. You should try doing a manual update:

I followed all of that. Still same problem.

I’m thinking its a problem with the theme.

Am I able to, basically, start over? Can I delete everything, back up my content, and reinstall it all (theme and WP?)?

    ??

What’s happening if you try to login now?

    Thread Starter MakingFlawless

    (@makingflawless)

same, I see log in screen. I enter name and password. It loads to a blank screen

Are there any error messages there?

Can you ask GoDaddy to look at the server error logs when you’ve tried to login?

google chrome gives me this error:
    no data
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
    Reload this webpage.
Press the reload button to resubmit the data needed to load the page.
    Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

safari gives me a blank screen, no error msg

    Firefox gives me:
    The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

As I suspected from the beginning, that’s a server (GD) problem – and many other people (also on GD) are reporting that same problem recently.

    Here’s a thread/post where they’ve acknowledged the issue:

    Thanks.

I’m on the phone with GD (again) and the first guy gave me the ‘corp line’ of just wait 4 hours, so I am now speaking with a supervisor. He seems more helpful

they whitelisted my IP address and all is well.

Had GD not blamed this on WP 6 hours ago, it could have saved a lot of trouble.

    Thanks so much

Yeah, so sorry about that – I was trying not to just point at GD right away (guess I should stop that – LOL)! But I’m really glad you’ve got it straightened out – and your site is updated too – so that’s a plus anyway.
