Help!!! Crazy blog posts appearing!

    A load of crazy blog posts I did not write have appeared on my page! Plus I changed the name of the page to articles from blog, and it’s changed itself back… has someone hacked into my site? Does anyone know what’s going on? It’s really freaked me out. Please help! I have also posted this in the fixing wordpress forum, I am not sure if that’s ok, but I thought it could be a theme related or more general issue. If admin thinks I should not post in two places, do please delete this one. thanks.

  • Hello Helen,

    By default WordPress will display your latest blog posts on the homepage. However, these can be removed by setting a static frontpage. Setting a static frontpage is a core WordPress feature, so although we don’t provide tutorials on this directly there are many guides on the internet. I’ve found a particularly good tutorial over at YouTube which you may find helpful:

    Hi. I wasn’t actually asking about setting a static front page, the issue was as I said that I thought someone had hacked into my site and was posting blog posts on there. They were posts I had not written. It wasn’t the place they were appearing that was the issue, it was the posts and how they got there. I think I’ve now resolved this issue anyway, but, thanks for trying to help though.
