  • I get the same error on one of my products. Everything worked fine when I first installed this plugin some time ago. Recently one of my products started showing the error “Error: There was a problem connecting to the payment gateway.” and I can not figure out why.

    I have duplicated the product and removed the original but the error is still preventing sales.

    Me too!

    As of late, some of my customers have received this error when trying to complete a purchase. Maybe a recent plug-in update created other problems?

    I am losing business – hopefully this can be fixed!

    Thanks.

    I’m getting the same error!

    Same here. I checked my logs in Stripe and this is the error:

    error:
    type: “invalid_request_error”
    message: “You have passed a blank string for ‘card’. You should remove the ‘card’ parameter from your request or supply a non-blank value.”
    param: “card”
    }

    The problem appears to come from remembering cards. Turning off this checkbox in the settings has resolved this issue for me, at least for now.

    Previously I stated that duplicating the product and deleting the old one was not working but I was wrong. Guess I jumped the gun on that one a little bit.

    Anyways, I have several products but only one was triggering this error so I duplicated the erroneous product, deleted the original, then renamed the newly duplicated product’s title and slug to match what it was before. Now it’s working fine but be warned this will wipe out all prior woocommerce reporting stats for the product.

    I did check my “Saved Cards” settings and it was checked. I have unchecked it (regarding nathanbland’s comment) hoping that it will prevent future issues.

    This is a generic error for the plugin, it’s what shows when the transaction doesn’t go through because of a bad connection, an uncaught error, etc. I need more information on this, could you log into the Stripe dashboard and give me some of the errors you see for failed transactions?

    I just had the same error after installing a plugin.

    If you are having this issue I recommend disabling all plugins except woocommerce and stripe gateway and run a test order to rule out other plugins from breaking this.

    I’ve had the same error on two sites, both using stripe. All of sudden they both just came up with “problem connecting to gateway”. Nothing changed on my end…

    There are no errors to report from stripe, everything is showing 200 in the logs. Tried test mode for both sites and it still produces the same connection error… I contacted stripe and they said to contact WordPress or Woothemes for support…

    I’ve also tried disabling EVERY plugin EXCEPT the woocommerce and stripe, and still shows the error.

    What happened? Any ideas? I’ve tried all the suggestions to fix it that I could dig up on internet searches.

    This started happening to us yesterday. We just updated wordpress to the latest version and updated the database. Stripe processing no longer works.

    Like the previous poster suggested, I think there is an issue with this plugin and WordPress 4.3.

    Try on this one but unfortunately it does not have subscription support yet

    Hi guys,

    Having the same problem with customers trying to checkout via our WPTouch Mobile Store. Just getting the error ‘problem connecting to gateway’. Desktop payments work fine. (not an error with WP Touch as their developers recreated the issue on a desktop theme)

    Stephen I have emailed you directly via your website with some screen shots of the failed payments in stripe. The info there might shed some light on what is going on.

    Would be good to see a fix.

    Thanks

    @amonllor

    That could be due to CURL not working anymore because its not related to plug it may be due to some internal error if you check in firebug if you see any more error

    Thanks
