    Not been using WP long now and ive published a site, but with w3validator
    it says i have 30 errors, i have a site but it was put into files for me, like index, services, contact etc. so i don’t no where to fix the errors, can anyone point me into the right direction to. the url is https://www.mycarvaletingservices.co.uk Thanks for reading.

  • did you set this site up? Looking at your source code here there are definitely some apparent problems.

    Line 113 is where your head section ends, and your body section begins.

    Lines 43-98 (maybe) Are all display code. No display code goes in the head section of a website.

    No i did it by a template and just added the plugins, because my old site someone made all the files so all i ad to do was go into say my index and change txt, image etc, but in WP im new to there are so mean files i just left them as they come with the template, sorry but ive only been doing this for a year or two. how do i get to line 113 in the index page so i can change things. Thanks

    The line numbers won’t match up between your source files, and template files.

    I do believe that the problems I mentioned above will be found in the header.php file.

    sorry what is wrong and the best way to fix it, as the w3 is saying that it is the closing Brackets > are not meant to be there, but when i take them out the code shows on screen.

    Yes, all of the social stuff (twitter, facebook, google plus, feedburner) is in the wrong place. It needs to come after the

    </head><body class="

    bit somewhere. The validator is a tool to help you find errors, it won’t be able to tell you exactly what is wrong.

    how do i move all the code for the social button as they are in there own plugin files, and the header is in the header one. do i have to make up all the page files with notepad as say index, services etc, or can i do this in WP

    because ive looked in the header and the header ends and the body starts as it should.

    What plugin does the social stuff? how is it brought in?

    The plugin that im using is KN Social Slide for all my social, and i got them from WP plugin in the dashboard and just activated it.

    Just activated that plugin on my site with a fresh copy of 2011.

    In a nutshell, your site will never validate with that plugin active. It’s doing a variety of things improperly.

    Is there any that i can just activate and the plugin puts the images so i don’t have to do the coding to move them on the page, as im not to hot on the wp files.
