    Hi,

There’s no particular setting to exclude something from the ‘plugins’ folder – a plugin storing data in its own plugin folder is doing something wrong; its against WP standards for where data is meant to be stored. (For a good reason: if a plugin stores in its own folder, then its data gets wiped out whenever the plugin gets updated).

But, you can force UD to not backup a directory, by placing a file with the name “.donotbackup” (without the quote marks, but with the period) in that directory (e.g. via FTP).

    David

Can you tell me what type of file I should use for this “.donotbackup” file? I’m fairly savvy but don’t know if this should just be a folder inside the directory that is named this, or if it’s even possible to name a .txt file this without the extension, or if there is just something I am missing about this. Thanks!

    Nevermind.
