Help!!!! Fatal error after activating plugin

    Hi there,

    I am a novice but learning wordpress to publish a website for a voluntary group i am part off, was eally happy with how it was going until i installed a plug in, i was immediately pushed to a white screen containing a message …. Now i cannot access the website in anyform or log onto wordpress to delete it.

    The message says:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_userdata() in /homepages/37/d395752492/htdocs/Wordpressinstall/wordpress-3.3/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/user-access-manager/class/UserAccessManager.class.php on line 1881

    Please Please help, have no idea what to do.

    The plug in was found through the wordpress plugin search feature and was called ‘Yet Another Photo Blog’.

    Using ftp or by loggin in to your hosted account and using the file manager, rename user-access-manager to xuser-access-manager.

    If you have access to the site files via FTP, delete the plugin from there and you should be able to access the site again.

    Use your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel to remove the plugin. That should probably let you back in. The error message seems to indicate an issue with the user-access-manager plugin, so pay particular attention to that one if removing the Yet Another Photo Blog plugin doesn’t solve the issue for you.

    Thanks for the quick responses, have opened FTP (FILEZILLA) and found the plugins folder under ‘Content’

    As said am a complete novice, is it a case of pressing the delete button/option to remove it is there a special way to do it …. Would rather check than risk messing it up even more.

    James, When i actviated the user-access-manager it changed the colour schemes and took ages to rectify so unsure of that plug in really. Am more than happy to delete that also

    In filezilla either right click the YAPB plugin and click rename, or click delete.

    “Normally” you rename it to make sure that was the plugin causing the problem (sometimes multiple plugins are at fault) and then delete it.

    I changed the filenames of YAPB and user-access-manager to begin with an ‘x’ as suggested, clicked refresh and the site has re-appeared!!!
