• Hi,

I have a few issues that I am trying to resolve.

I have been attempting to remove a few links from google results, in the results here
    https://www.google.com.au/search?source=hp&ei=-U3-X8iKMaPDpge-t7jYBw&q=lab2prod&btnK=Google+Search.

The pages I want to remove are cloud and networking, i have added the noindex tag to the pages. However, they are still showing on Google. I made this change about 5 days ago and google search console tells me the site map was last read on the 10th.

I would like to know how to fix this?

Also I have seen that a page that I have deleted also keeps coming back in search, that page is /blog and sometimes /colibri-wp. I temporarily requested these to be removed from the search console and added them to dissallow. But have noticed when the sitemaps get rescanned it sometimes comes back.

Lastly, earlier this morning when googling my page name, I noticed under the main page a link called two links called NSX-T. Both of these links linked to separate locations, one linked to a specific post and the other to the entire post listing. I am not sure how this occurred or how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this, happy to provide any further information.

    Thanks!

  • This is not a WordPress question.
You should find a resource such as a Google help page, or the support forum for the plugin you are using.

Well it is in a way, as I am not entirely sure how WordPress is operating. If it was just a standard site it would not be all that hard.

Have you also checked your sitemap for search engines? I think your index for search engines is found here:

    https://www.lab2prod.com.au/sitemap_index.xml

If you click the page site map under that, you will see all pages that Google will find next time it indexes your website. Is your cloud and networking pages showing up there?

The Google search results page you referenced, only has Cloud from issuu.com, that is not coming from your website. Did you put that info on Issuu?

I checked the sitemap_index which leads to the page sitemap.. which does not list those pages.

That’s odd I can see my site being listed at the top of the results page with sub pages.

I can’t add an image here, but when I click on the link the first result is my page, with the subpages of author, home lab, about, networking, cloud, nsx-t.

I didn’t add the stuff on isuu though.

My apologies, I did not understand what you said about the sub pages. I do see the links “Networking · Cloud · About · Other” under the first search results.

    “Networking” goes this page: https://www.lab2prod.com.au/nsx-t
“Cloud” goes to this page: https://www.lab2prod.com.au/vmware-cloud-foundation-vcf

Both pages are showing up in your sitemap: https://www.lab2prod.com.au/page-sitemap.xml

So that is the problem, your site is still indexing those pages, so Google is still finding them.

I use Yoast SEO plugin to fix sitemap issues. But I think Joy is right that this is not a WordPress question, however, I understand that you don’t know how WordPress works. What is happening is normal WP function.

That’s odd, when I click networking I get sent to https://www.lab2prod.com.au/networking. It’s not browser cache as I have tried several and also incognito mode.

The cloud link also links to https://www.lab2prod.com.au/cloud.

Hmm, I’m not getting that, so yeah, you would have to find a resource such as Google help page or support forums for that. Or, ask plugin support if you have a related plugin, it looks like Yoast SEO is on the site.

    Hahaa, that’s super weird.
    Ok, thanks!
