  • Hey there MaryElla,

Thanks for posting! MailChimp provides a handful of options to help design a signup form. Some require knowledge of CSS/HTML, while others do not!

To start, it’s worth noting that this WordPress plugin does provide a few options for styling certain parts of your sign up form. To check out the available options, you’ll want to take a look at your plugin’s settings, which will provide a few ways you can customize certain text, as well as colors on your sign up form. If you’re not seeing the aspect of your signup form as an editable option here, ultimately changing the design of the plugin signup form will required adding CSS code to your WordPress theme’s stylesheet. This process will require knowledge of constructing CSS code.

If there’s any particular aspect of the form that you’re looking to change, feel free to post a description of what you’re looking for and I’d be happy to help. While we’re limited in the amount of custom code help we can provide here, I’d be happy to help to get you started in the right direction.

Alternatively, you may consider options outside of this plugin form. For example, in your MailChimp account you have the ability to use our form builder to style your MailChimp-hosted signup form. Once you’ve done that, you can simply add a link to your MailChimp-hosted signup form, to your WordPress site. More info on that is available in our KB here!

    Hye There,

I am using mailchimp plugin with Wp 3.5.1 . All configured however when I used embed into my page through widget it does not show subscribe button just shows the email type in box.

    Hey there Haskee,

Any chance you could post a link to the site that you have your signup form on? I’d be happy to take a closer look and see what I can find!

Hey there, I am interested in this post too. New to mailchimp, but really impressed with it. Wow!

Any way, I have used the widget to create a form on a brand new site here.

My problem is that it all feels a bit close – the form elements are too close to each other for my liking.

Can you give me some pointers as to where the CSS that controls this is.

    Thanks
    Richard

    Hey there Services@,

In taking a look at the page you linked me to, it looks like it’s no longer active. However, it sounds like the ultimate goal is to style the form using your own CSS code.

To incorporate your own CSS code, you’ll want to use a tool like Firebug or simply the ‘inspect element’ tool in Chrome to identify how to target your CSS code on the form elements in question. Once you’re ready to write your CSS code, you can add that to your WordPress theme’s stylesheet, and you should see those changes take effect.

If you have any further questions feel free to post back here and I”d be happy to help!
