• Hello everybody!

I’m in need of some help from the WP gurus in here to help me decide in a gallery solution for my website. Right now I’m torned between the native WP gallery and NextGEN, but can’t seem to decide which one to use as both have features that I like.

    NextGEN:

I like the galleries management, to have everything in its own “folder”
Clicking on a gallery image opens that image full-size on the same page. You can navigate through your gallery images with keyboard.

    Native WP Gallery:

I like the ability to insert images directly into a post, while retaining form factor and size (no cropping for thumbnails).
I like being able to add caption to the images.

So, basically I need a plugin or method to post an image with any for factor (let’s say 150px X 700px, 600×300 px, or whatever) without the image being cropped, and when clicked it’s zoomed to look at details. A plus is the ability to have visible captions.

An example page with the kind of images I will be using https://www.butterflyphoto.ru/dt_portfolio/xylitol/

Thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated
